What Are Giclée Reproductions?
Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) reproductions are high-quality prints of original artwork created using a specialized inkjet printing process. The term "Giclée" comes from the French word gicler, meaning "to spray," referencing the method of precisely spraying archival inks onto fine art paper or canvas. This advanced printing technique ensures exceptional detail and vibrant color accuracy, capturing the texture and nuances of the original piece.
Once printed, the canvas is stretched over a "stretcher" frame, a wooden framework designed to hold the canvas taut and maintain its structural integrity.
At Paradise Found Studio, Giclée reproductions of Kevin Pawlowski's artwork allow you to enjoy museum-quality pieces at an accessible price. Each print embodies the essence of the original creation, making it a perfect choice for collectors and art enthusiasts alike.

Symbolism of my painting St. James The Greater
About St. James The Greater:
Saint James the Greater was one of the twelve apostles and a key figure in early Christianity. He was the brother of the apostle John and a fisherman by trade. What truly sets him apart, however, is his role as a close companion to Jesus Christ. Along with Peter and John, James witnessed many pivotal moments, including the Transfiguration and the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Traditionally depicted with a scallop shell and a staff, Saint James embodies the spirit of pilgrimage. The scallop shell serves as a metaphor for the endless journey of faith, and also symbolizes baptism and rebirth. His staff, reminiscent of a pilgrim's walking stick, speaks to his role as a guide for those seeking spiritual enlightenment. I chose this last point as a central theme of the painting.

My Journey Painting St. James The Greater
Since St. James The Greater is the patron saint of pilgrims, its hard not to reflect on the creative process as a journey. And as is my way, I took this to the extreme as I went on a virtual pilgrimage through the Camino de Santiago, for a total of 481 miles.
Be a part of the Transfiguration renovation project and hang art reproductions in your own home! Kevin Pawlowski is offering reproductions of his sketches, color studies, and final mosaics as they become available.
All reproductions are printed using the highest quality Giclée method, which ensures they look as close to the originals as possible. Drawings are reproduced on cotton uncoated paper, similar to watercolor paper, and color studies are printed on stretched canvas.
All profits (about 50%) will be donated to the Transfiguration narthex renovation project.
