Artist: Kevin Pawlowski (Georgia US, 1968- )
Title: St. Kateri Tekakwitha
Medium: Oil paint on canvas
Size of Original: 16” x 20” x 3/4” (41cm x 51cm x 2cm)
Date: 2025
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha is a 16" x 20" oil painting on stretched canvas by Kevin Pawlowski of Paradise Found Studio. Painted in a contemporary realism style, the work combines lifelike detail with expressive, painterly brushstrokes that add movement and emotion. Saint Kateri is depicted humbly seated on the ground, surrounded by a tangle of thorns and delicate white lilies—a symbolic contrast between suffering and purity. “Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens.” (Song of Solomon 2:2) She gently raises a crucifix in one hand while modestly shielding part of her face with her head scarf, capturing her quiet devotion and humility (and covering her small pox scars).
The background offers a serene landscape of upper New York, with slender birch trees, soft rolling mountains, and a gentle, diffused light that frames the figure with an almost sacred glow. The natural setting evokes Kateri’s deep connection to the land and her Indigenous heritage. Rich in symbolism and spiritual reverence, this painting offers a contemplative portrayal of the first Native American saint, honoring both her faith and cultural identity.
The one-of-a-kind original or museum-quality giclée reproductions are available for purchase.

            What Are Giclée Reproductions?

Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) reproductions are high-quality prints of original artwork created using a specialized inkjet printing process. The term "Giclée" comes from the French word gicler, meaning "to spray," referencing the method of precisely spraying archival inks onto fine art paper or canvas. This advanced printing technique ensures exceptional detail and vibrant color accuracy, capturing the texture and nuances of the original piece.
Once printed, the canvas is stretched over a "stretcher" frame, a wooden framework designed to hold the canvas taut and maintain its structural integrity.
At Paradise Found Studio, Giclée reproductions of Kevin Pawlowski's artwork allow you to enjoy museum-quality pieces at an accessible price. Each print embodies the essence of the original creation, making it a perfect choice for collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
